Hey there! Again.....happy holidays! I can tell they are here, not because of all the twinkly lights and snow, but because I made the mistake of going to the mall yesterday. I remember why I now get all my Christmas shopping done before December. Achk!
So, because I will be cooped up for the foreseeable future....mainly to avoid the crowds, stores and traffic, oh, and driving in the snow....I'll been 'using what I have' for most of my holiday crafts.
Its actually quite fun trying to stretch my imagination a little bit.
Who would have thought that this......
......came from all of this???
This was so super easy to do.
All I used was:
3 dessert cups
3 square blocks of wood - made from a 6x2 piece
Spray paint
Super Glue
First I wanted to add some 'decorative touches' to the wood...so I sent them through my router.
Then got a hold of spray paint and started at it.
This takes some patience when spray painting glass. I had to do a lot of light layers to make sure it didn't run.
Then add one and one together....aka glue the wood to the dessert cups.
=easy and CHEAP candle stands.
They are now adorning my island. Makes me smile ☺
These are pretty sturdy pieces, so they are definitely interchangeable with other things.
Here I just replaced the candle with a plate of cookies!
I'm thinking that these will be a focus on our holiday table with all the yummy goodness' on them.
And it helps that they kinda look like bells, dontcha think?
Here is the super duper delicious cookie recipe that I used to make these yummy cookies!
Ingredients:
1 box of any flavor cake mix (I used white, but I bet spice would be yummy too ☺ )
2 eggs
1/3 cup of oil
1/4 cup of light brown sugar
1 cup of dark chocolate chips - or more.....
Mix all the ingredients together.
Drop 1" balls of dough onto grease cookie sheet
Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes.
Enjoy!!!
I LOVE IT!!! They came out great!
ReplyDeleteCute cute cute! I love 'using what you have'. And I'd almost rather be strung up by my toes than walk into a mall during December! LOL I stay as far away as possible. Or if I am forced, I have an action plan and 'escape' route before heading in. giggles.
ReplyDeleteThey look fantastic, great idea. I hate shopping at the best of times but the weeks leading up to Christmas, forget it lol.
ReplyDeletethey would look great on a buffet table ;) pretty!
