Hey hey! I am 'this' close to be done with redecorating my bedroom. "THIS" close! I have one huge project left until I'm done. But that may not happen for awhile, so I'm going to show it to you before then :) When redecorating this room though, I realized how absent it was from any art or pictures. I had one picture and one sconce and that was it. Doesn't seem like a lot, but it actually worked with the room. But I decided that I wanted more pictures and needed something new besides the sconce. Cue my next project....
This is one of the projects I'll be demonstrating this Sunday for the Pinterest Party with Michaels and Hometalk which I talked about earlier this week.
Here are the supplies for the project:
Stretched burlap canvas
Stencil
Frame
Paint
Sponge brush
Step 1: If you choose to do the negative space type design I did on these two, you'll want to place the frame on the center of the burlap and then lightly draw a line . This is the area you'll want to stay in for one piece and stay out of the other piece.
Step 2: Paint your frame. I chose to do mine white, since well...we all know (and I'm husband knows and hates all to well) that I love white :)
Step 4: Use some hot glue and glue on the mirror.
When painting the frame, I liked the idea of keeping the edges the dark brown just to give some contrast and depth. It was hard but luckily the paint wiped off pretty good for the most part if I messed up.
This stretched burlap is amazing! I love it...and it comes in a ton of different sizes too.
This looks soo cute in my bedroom :) I can't wait to you show you guys!
Now if you guys are around this weekend, you should stop by one of your local Michael's store for a Pinterest Party! Here are the details for the party I'm hosting:

ReplyDeleteHi - such cute frames! I am in desperate need of some decorations on my wall. Love this idea because you can customize it to your own colors! I'm confused though - I thought the frame (with the curvy edges) was painted white, but then you mentioned a mirror. Is the frame a mirror? I'm lacking some sleep so maybe I missed something :-)
ReplyDeleteOh I have no idea...did I mention a mirror ?? I may have been lacking sleep when I wrote this lol. These are just frames..not a mirror :)
