Day two of the 5 Days of Halloween Crafts series is here! This is one of my favorites so far. I tried a few things with doilies and decided lace was the best option for this craft. Although, I did discover another cute idea with doilies that may just make it into this series :)
For this project, I used a mason jar, lace, spray adhesive and spray paint.
I first attached the lace to the mason jar with some spray adhesive, only spraying the lace, not the mason jar.
I then spray paint the jar with some black flat spray paint. Looks a little like chalkboard paint, but it's not.
I then added some little tags I found at Target in the dollar spot.
Of course, you can't just have one :) I actually wanted to make like 10 of these to use as my tablescape for Halloween, but time didn't allow. I still like the idea, so it may just happen :)
Inside the jars, I added enough salt to cover the lace part, and then put in a votive candle.
I love how the light glows through the black. I only did about two coats of the spray paint on this, just enough to cover the glass but not enough to make it so black you couldn't see the flame.
Cost for this per jar is probably under $1. The lace was a $2.47 a spool; I used the same piece of lace for each jar. The jars I picked up 12 for $7 and the spray paint was $1. So, nice easy cheap Halloween project that is going to look amazing all lit up on Halloween night!
These look so good! It looks like there is white lace around the bottom of the jars. Love it!
