And yes, it's as easy as it sounds :) All I used was parchment paper, hot glue and gun and some glitter.
You can free hand the web if you want, but I decided to draw one onto the parchment paper first using a marker.
There are two ways to do this. You can either us craft glue or hot glue. I did both, and because I'm impatient, I chose to do the hot glue. The craft glue took all night to dry. But, doing it with the hot glue, means the glue cools down quickly. So, to begin, I did a line at a time and then sprinkled some glitter, did another line, glitter, etc.
Once the lines were all done...
I then did the curved pieces.
Once everything was cooled and glittered, I pulled the web off of the parchment paper. I noticed a ton of stray strings, but I don't mind them, gives it more an authentic look :) But you can pull those off if you wish.
The glitter I used is super fine. It almost feels like powder sugar, so it got everywhere and didn't come off. The coverage was great, but it was kind of a mess. So, picking up and placing down the web was also a mess, leaving glitter everywhere. So, I would suggest using not so fine glitter :)
I had initially placed the webs directly under the plates, but ended up loving how it looked a little off to the side.
All in all, I think I ended up using about 5 glue sticks, and an eighth of a jar of glitter. I was able to use the same parchment paper piece for multiple webs too. Can't wait to set up the whole table for Halloween night!
