Christmas is obviously the best season (besides the cold weather that comes with it), so it pains me that Christmas decor is only around in our house for barely a month. My husband has put his foot down on the whole not decorating thing until Thanksgiving...which is a total bummer. So, needless to say, I had to work my little bum off to get all this decor up in enough time for this first part of my home tour :) Be sure to check back next week for part 2!
Let's get this tour started, shall we? And let the photo overload commence! :)
Welcome to our entryway. I usually hang garland from the stair rail, but this year I decided to try something a little different by hanging it on the bottom. I'm on the fence about it, but for now, this is it :)
You can barely see them in the pictures, but on the railing I have little stick snowflakes hanging. I also usually hang wreaths here, but decided to change it up a bit again with these.
As for the little sitting area, I just added layers and layers of pillows. You can never have too many pillows! Trust me, it's a joke that runs in our family about how many pillows can be spotted in each room. It's like when you are done counting, you see another one. Seriously ;)
Here's our entryway from another angle; one of my favorite views in our house. I used to hate the natural color of our door and railing, but have come to love it especially with how it pops against the white board and batten.
Now onto the next room! Here's our front room. From this angle, just a few changes were made to the side table, and my new faux cotton stem wreath was hung on the oversized chalkboard.
And here's my favorite corner. I decided that I needed to try a flocked tree this year. I want to flock our main one, but after doing this one, decided against it. These things are messy! Ohhh, but they look so pretty though. At least I'll get my flocked tree fix with this little one for now.
We'll see how many actually stay on the tree with a toddler and a crawling baby around. Not to worry too much though, I learned my lesson the hard way and only buy shatter proof balls now just in case.
Now for my 'mantel'. The whole reason for making this faux fireplace was for Christmas and to hang stockings. I have a mantel in our living room, but really thought this room would look so cute with one in it too! I have to admit though, just as the fireplace is obviously none-functional, the stockings too are just for show...
...and hung by tape :)
Here's a wider view of the room. I also switched out the rug. I love the rug that was in here originally, but wanted to try this one and am loving how it looks!
And here's another quick angle of the entryway and my front room as we finish this part of the tour :)

Seriously, how adorable is your home! I love love all the white!!!! Your faux fireplace is perfect! Wonderful job.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I love the simple, white decor and those snowflakes on the stairs are beautiful. And it cracks me up that in every other post I read here, it seems like you switch out rugs. :) I think I need to visit your rug closet!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the garland at the bottom. It's so unusual but such a great idea! Also, that flocked tree is great. I really really really like how your Christmas decor is a continuation of your style. It looks really beautiful.
ReplyDeletelooks lovely! i am confused about how to enter the giveaway though..
ReplyDeleteEverything is so gorgeous, Alicia! I love the flocked tree and the stockings on the faux fireplace are too cute. I love how bright and airy your home looks. Beautiful! Can't wait to see the rest of the tour!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I love the faux fireplace--gotta have somewhere for those stockings :). And the flocked tree is beautiful....I really want to try doing one one year....
ReplyDeleteI love the subtle but wintery feel that created. I love all that you did, especially the garland on the stairs, and I think I need to take a few pointers from you. lol.
ReplyDeleteMy jaw is on the floor! How absolutely stunning is your home! Like something straight from the pages of a magazine. The white-on-white colour scheme is so restful and classy and just simply beautiful. Every detail of your Christmas decorations works together in harmony to create such a peaceful, welcoming feel. I'm in love!
ReplyDeleteSUCH. BEAUTIFUL. SPACES!! I love all the white and gorgeous textured details. Amazing tour!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and peaceful home! All the textures and calmness is very soothing!
ReplyDeleteHow beatiful!! I love your favorite view of the entry, too! And your faux fire. So cute!!
ReplyDeleteStunning!!! I love how you have neutral colors, but they just pop!!! A beautiful home tour!! Pinned and shared!
ReplyDeleteInspired! I recently combined two households and find my garage stuffed with many duplicate items, especially Christmas decorations. In an effort not to offend anyone I've kept many articles that don't complement each other. Amazingly, by combining different shades of white as background and accessorizing with something meaningful to each individual, we will start making new memories together. I love how your rooms complement each other without crowding the space. I was worried about decorating for Christmas because there is so much more stuff to consider..(I can't show favoritism!) I'm going to use your ideas as a guide for out first Christmas together! Paint and Pillows = Peace!
