As this year comes to an end, it's kind of fun to reflect on what posts and projects were enjoyed the most around here. I feel like I didn't get much done in 2015. Transitioning from one kiddo to two really took a lot to get used to :) Hopefully 2016 will bring on more of the DIY projects my heart craves...and more time to do them! (click on the pictures below to go to the post)
The top post and ultimately my favorite project to date in my little girl's room is this cute little whimsical canopy tent. We've used it as a little reading area, toy storage, a stage and place to have tea. It has many many uses! Love it so much, I might end up putting it in our nursery too.
Another nursery addition...well, not really addition, if you have babies, you have a plethora of diaper boxes. So, this was just an easy way to make them cute storage instead!
And this made me happy, apparently I'm not the only one that deals with a ton of a grease piling up ;)
I can't believe how easy cleaning grease was with this technique! I use it all the time now.
For some reason, this next project coming in 4th place surprised me! It didn't do so well at the beginning, but it's an awesome little secret, so I guess people want to know how to get the perfect paint line :)
You all are people after my own heart and love cheap cute decor just as much as I do! My top 5th and 6th posts were about cheap decor you can find online :)
First up was 13 cute and cheap bedding sets.
Next was 20 cute and cheap pillow covers you can find on Amazon. There's a ton more that I didn't mention in this post too. Amazon is the place to go for pillow covers!
Toy storage is a huge problem at my house....especially now after the holidays. I'm seriously thinking of talking to the fam and telling them not to get the kids any more toys. It's that bad and I've realized how unneeded most of it is. I have some definite purging that is going to happen in the future. I'm sure many of you have the same problem....that's why this hidden play area was 7th on the list!
8th on the list was a slipcover for my ottoman. I love how this transformed the living room. But....ugh. I seriously need to heed my own advice and wash the fabric before sewing. We had a major spill on it the other day, so I threw it in the wash and dryer...it came out like 3 inches smaller on all sides. And yeah, hardly fits the ottoman anymore :( I think I might wash it again and stand on it and stretch it out; see if that helps. So, if you want to tackle this project...be sure to wash your fabric before you start!
This cute little dresser is 9th on the list. I love love love how this turned out! I have another fun Ikea Tarva hack coming soon. This dresser is seriously so versatile.
And rounding up the top 10 is this privacy screen I made for our back patio. I have left this up despite promising my husband it would be down by winter...it has gone through a full two weeks of storms, rain and snow. It currently is buried with 1 foot of snow and is still standing strong! Can't wait for warming weather to utilize it again :)
Thank you all for making 2015 so great and for inspiring me to do more and more! This blog wouldn't be the same without all of you. Can't wait to see what 2016 brings! It's amazing what can change in a year :)
