I think every year around this time it is hard for me to imagine cooler temps and pumpkins. I was hopeful that this year would be different since the Summer felt so long, but alas, it's the same. I'm not ready for Fall or Winter! This actually makes me quite sad adding pumpkins to my decor lol. Serious though. I waited until the latest possible minute to do it. I tried to decorate for Fall without them, but it just didn't do. But, the wonderful Marty from A Stroll Thru Life is hosting the Fall Home Tours this week, so I had to get over myself and try to embrace Fall :)
If you are coming from Lynzy & Co., welcome! I'll give you a little background. We moved into our custom home about 7 years ago. I'm married to a man who would rather not put any nail holes in the wall, let along see something painted or drastically changed. He obviously didn't know what he was getting himself in to :) He used to leave the house for the day if I was doing a big project, but he's gotten better and now just leaves the room. We were thinking about building a new house this past Spring, but have decided to stay and embrace this beautiful home we have...for now. Let me tell you, not knowing if you are going to move or not seriously puts a damper on decorating and projects, so it was such a relief realizing that we were going to stay for awhile.
Hope you enjoy the tour! I'll be posting one more tour up next week that will include our bedroom and BIG changes in my living room. But for now, here's our home! Welcome :)
Our entry way got a big update this spring with these double barn doors. This totally transformed this space!
Here's the other side of the entry hall and stair case that you see as you enter our home. I wasn't sure which direction to go with Fall this year. I was trying to add some bright oranges and yellows, but I ultimately decided on a soft grey.

Our front room was made into a quasi guest room when guests come over and functions as mountain of toys all other times. This couch is my fave from Ikea. It's also a pull out bed.

And this little bench houses a ton of fun little toys. I'm all about multi-purpose furniture :)
The mantel on our faux fireplace was the first thing to get decorated. I put no thought into this. Just grabbed all my pumpkins out of a bag and threw them up there...and it ended up looking decent lol.
As for our dining room. I had a grande vision of all white and brown with pops of maroon from these mums. But, alas, my mums have yet to bloom. Maybe I'll update this picture when they are full of color :)
For the sideboard, I just moved a few mugs out of the way and added a ton of little pumpkins on this 3-tier stand.
I kept everything else simple with whites and creams on the pillows. That wood mirror has been a staple in my dining room for years now; I'm truthfully think it's the only thing that has stayed the same in our house for that long lol.

As for the exit, here's the other view of our entry way. I just love this staircase and the two story foyer. It's probably one of my fave views in the house!
Thank you for dropping by! Be sure to check back next week with some more room tours! And if you are following along on the blog hop, your next stop is The House of Silver Lining. I follow Shauna on Instagram, this is for sure one tour you don't want to miss!
