Farmhouse Fall Home Tour

Today I am sharing my home...err front room, for this week's Fall Home tours hosted by the lovely Marty at A Stroll Thru Life. I'm going to be honest, this year has been so hard to get into the Fall spirit. Most years I have Fall stuff out in August, well this year, I'm doubting it will reach the rest of our house until October :) It is just so dang hot! I can't get my mind to think pumpkins and plaid when my body is thinking swimsuit! So, for this week's Fall tour I'll be sharing my front room. The rest of my house is still feeling the Summer vibe, and I'm just not ready to change it yet! But, give it a few weeks and I'm sure it'll happen.

This pup would more than likely greet you at the door, jumping all over you. (We are working on that). He's six months old and the new star in our home.

He looks cute and sweet here, but trust me, the whole time I was snapping pictures of the room he was at my feet barking at his stuffed duck :) 

Here's a section of our entry way with the double sliding barn doors. Our front room actually has three purposes. It's a living room, guest room and play room. We put these doors up to add more privacy for our guests.

As usual, I went with a neutral theme in here while adding lots of textures.

I realized while decorating in here for Fall how much of a pumpkin hoarder I am. So, you'll notice my little piles throughout the room.

This couch is also a pull out bed. It's my white slipcover couch that my husband won't let me get in our main living space, so at least I have it in here :) I had a good excuse to buy it too.

Along with pumpkins, I have a good amount of pillows and blankets. I needed a place to hang some of the blankets in here, so I built this cute little farmhouse ladder.

I decided to use lots of layers in this room for the Fall, so I not only layered with blankets and pillows but books.

I love my little book stash in here. It was a great little place to add more pumpkins!

One of my favorite additions in here has been this hamper. With all the other things going on in this room, I decided to keep my pillows white and have the other accents stand out around them.

And of course, all of the pumpkins are white. I think this greenery is the only different color in this room amongst the neutrals and the burnt yellow in the blanket.

Here's a couple of wider views of the room. As I mentioned before, the sofa turns into a bed. The bench houses a lot of pink and purple play kitchen stuff and play food. The other corner opposite has a large armoire for our coats, and a small percentage of my pillow hoard. :) Plus, that corner has a cute little white play kitchen set (not shown since it's not the most picturesque corner around :)).

I do love this view from this angle though of the stairs. I have plans to rip up the stair carpet and place the hardwood up it with a runner, and then add molding to the wall opposite the railing.
