Welcome to my fall front living room tour! I am so ready for fall this year...heck, like most of you, I'm just ready for this year to be over :) I feel like our summer break was 6 months long, so I welcomed fall into my house a little earlier than normal. We had a cold snap last week with highs in the 50s, so I definitely added all the extra layers into my home.
Today I'm sharing this room tour along with the home tours from 30 other amazing and talented bloggers in part of Marty from A Stroll Thru Life's Fall Home Tour series. If you are joining me from Town & Country Living, welcome! Isn't Jennifer's home beautiful and full of such inspiration? Be sure to check out all the other home tours going on today and throughout the week at the bottom of this post. I also wanted to give a big shout out to Linda from It All Started With Paint for helping this Fall tour "bloghop" continue in spite of some hardship sweet Marty faced a few weeks ago.
I'll be sharing more of my home later this week and next week, but today I'm focusing on my front room. This room was the first to get some fall touches, and the first room you see when entering my home. This room used to be the least used in our house. It was always clean and a retreat to go into. Boy how times have changed this year! I have now made this room my office, along with a homeschool room. We are in here at least half the day. It's always a bit crazy, the couch is not as white as it used to be...nor the rug for that matter.

A few years ago, I decorated my old mantel with books and decided to try it out again this year. These may very well move soon to my bookshelves in my main living room. But for now, I wanted to try out the look again.
Its amazing how different this room looks from just last year. I have a new chandelier in here, I added the board and batten to non-shiplapped walls, and the corner just out of this picture is now a homeschool corner (blog post for that here).
What do you think about the ladder in this corner? It has been super hard to get used to. I love it, so I knew I still wanted it in this room. Changing things up after years of having it somewhere can be hard! I do it a lot throughout my house with things I'm partial to, but when I love a look of something, I tend to keep it there for a long time :)
I didn't mention before, but along with my office and homeschool room, this room is also a guest room with fold out bed, and a play room at times. This little bench houses a whole bunch of toys. I topped it with this gorgeous bread bowl and filled it with an old vase and white pumpkins.
This is so fun to finally get a shot of this angle. Before, there was a big armoire where I am standing to take this picture. Now that it's gone, I have space! It seriously feels like a new room in here. For this side table, I styled it layers again and lots of texture!
When we moved into this house a decade ago, I despised these french doors. I mean, who has 2 sets of doors on the front of their house? It was just weird to me. My husband and I even talked about turning it into a window once. Well, luckily that was a fleeting thought. These doors make the room and bring in so much sunlight.
As you can see, I love adding layers and lots of pillows and blankets! I wish I can say it's just a cold weather thing, but it's totally not. Some people are minimalists....I am definitely not, ha! But for reals, the amount of pillows and blankets in here is just little ridiculous :)
I hope you enjoyed the tour! I'll be posting more of my house later this week and next! If you are following the blog hop, next for today is StoneGable. You will love Yvonne's house! And below is the list of all the other tours going on this week!
