Well, it's about that time to post about Christmas! Yay! I know, I know...it's before Thanksgiving. Technically, I've had my Christmas decor up for 3 weeks now. Yep! So, I could have started sharing a lot earlier, but life got ahold of me and kept me from doing so. It's been quite the crazy year hasn't it? I'm so ready for Christmas...clearly! ha! Today I'm sharing with you my front living room. I've been so excited to decorate in here for Christmas ever since I finished the board and batten on my walls. I was super excited to see how all my decor just popped!

Here's a good view of my little white box, or so my husband calls this room. When I painted everything white earlier this year, I had plans to use red for Christmas. I knew it would pop beautifully. But isn't it funny how visions change? I had lots of red in here last year and just wasn't feeling it this go around. I did opted for lots of creams and brown though!
I'm pretty sure my grandmother's antique mirror is what chose the decor in here for me. It just didn't feel right putting red everywhere. I went with it's vintage feel and decorated around it. I chose lots of candles, vintage books and a simple tree.

I've curated these "matching" candlesticks over the years and put them in my faux fireplace. When they are lit, this room is magical! You'll have to check out my social media accounts for a nighttime picture :)
The past two years I haven't hung any stockings on this mantel because I didn't want to take away from it's ornate beauty. I decided to add just two in the corner...because well, it's Christmas 2020 :) It definitely softened the look. I also added some more amber bottles with melty dripping candles. My go-to items to decorate a mantel: books, candlesticks, candles, garland, bookends and something big behind it all..in this case, a mirror.
These books are my favorite project lately. Once again, you'll have to wait to see the how-to on them until next year! But I love the character they bring. I made a few stacks so you will see them throughout my home during my upcoming Christmas tours next week.
I feel like this room has changed so much since last year...or even three years ago! It's amazing what happens when you think you are done changing things...and then you look back three years and realize just how much you have changed.
I would never have thought I would use brown as one of the main colors for my Christmas decor, but I love how it turned out in here. I feel like it's simple and let's the other things speak for themselves.
I'm excited to start sharing more of my Christmas home with you, finally! I have more tours coming next week so be sure to check back! And when I get more time on my hands, I have three awesome projects to share with you: diy window seat with builtins in my daughter's room, diy large corner armoire, and a cute and easy printers cabinet you can make for under $20! There's still lots going on over here even if I don't post as often as I used to! Be sure to join me on social media for lots of sneak peaks and behind the scenes :)
