It's May! Can you believe it?! I swear this year is flying by faster than last year, and that's saying something. I decided to give my master bedroom a little late spring/early summer refresh. It's needed every once in a while to give me motivation to actually clean my room, ha! But for reals...total true story. My bed doesn't get made, my room has piles and piles of weeks worth of laundry. It's a sad truth. When I give my bedroom an update, it really does motivate me to keep it clean ... at least for a week :)

When I started this makeover, it felt like lots of things were off. My solution was layers. The new white antique bedspread I found at an antique store while on that same vacation found it's way onto the foot of my bed. It didn't feel right until I added that extra blanket and the tray.
The same idea of layering happened at the foot of my bed. I found this amazing elm bench at the same store as the prints. I've had it for awhile now and haven't found a good place for it. I then realized how perfect it would look here! It felt soooo empty though just leaving it by itself. So....more layering took place. I add these diy vintage-inspired books (that tutorial is coming in the fall issue of Country Sampler Farmhouse Style magazine!). I also added the blanket, the floor cushions and the plant. I hoped you enjoyed my summer bedroom decor ideas! Changes don't have to be big to make a difference. They can be simple and still have a big impact.

I love the changes you made and adding that coral pillow just makes the prints shine. Looks like a tropical oasis for sure. Thanks so much for joining the tour. Marty
