It's summer! This is my favorite season...give me all the hot, all the sun, all the sweaty drips, all day long, all the extra sunny hours...everything :) Now that summer is, well, technically not here yet, but will be in a two short weeks, I've teamed up with 30 other amazing bloggers sharing their home in part of the Summer Home Tours hosted by the wonderful Marty from A Stroll Thru Life. If you are following along the tour, thanks for stopping by from Grace In My Space. And of course, welcome to all my lovely readers.❤
When decorating my house for summer this year, I had to think "what makes summer decor different from spring?" I realized quickly, not much for me! ha! I do change out my pillows for lighter linen ones...out go the sweater and wool ones. I keep my throw blankets since my husband keeps it freezing in here, but I do replace the heavy throw blankets with lighter ones also.
I already had my big changes happen in here in January with the arrival of my new couches. Decorating around them has been the best. They are so fresh looking! They are the Ektorps from Ikea...which are sadly now discontinued. They do have a new similar line called Uppland. I got this whole set for just about $600 used. It was the best money I've spent in a long time for our house!
I'm still going strong with the wood in the bookshelves. I have yet to acquire the amount of books needed to complete my new vision for this area. I keep using them in other spots of my house..like the new bookcase in my front room, and the one you will see in the pictures below.

I am going to drive some people nuts with my mantel :) I did this intentionally. I wanted it to be asymmetrical but not quite ;) I used my faux aged terracotta pots and some vintage ones to create my summer mantel. I then threw some loose faux greenery from Hobby Lobby into the pots and on the side. I added a favorite enamel sign "fresh cut flowers" to finish it!

And because I love full area views, here are a couple of my living room all decorated for summer....and clean! For reals though, the fact that it is clean is a miracle! I have to document that in pictures, it's a rarity...like a unicorn almost.
I hope you all enjoyed the tour, you can follow along with me on my social media for more fun updates and behind the scene type stuff:
And please be sure to check out all the other tours going on this week! Next up is Designing Vibes. I've been a big fan of Erica's home for a long time! Go sure to give her some love :)
