Happy October! I'm not sure how we skipped over September, but we did :) I realized that in about 32 days I'll be decorating for Christmas and that seriously hurts my heart...no, my soul. It's a deep deep down hurt. I know some of you all love Christmas, I'm just not ready for that time of year yet! Nor that kind of weather! My mind is still in July. It is helping that our trees outside are starting to change and the weather is getting slightly cooler....and pretty much just plain cold at nights.
This week I have been sharing all my rooms decorated for fall. You can find the links to my other rooms at the bottom of this post. Next step on my fall home tour is my bedroom! I didn't always decorate for seasons in my room, until I did. ha! No, but for real. I realized that decorating for seasons helps keep my bedroom feeling new, which ultimately helps me keep it clean more often. And that is a definitely a good thing.

The bench itself is beautiful, but I needed to soften the lines a little and make it more cozy for my bedroom. I added layers on it with a blanket and pillows. I then added a tray full of pumpkins. This bench lifts up too for some storage! A plus since I will be losing all the storage my other bench had by replacing it with this one.
This little area I kept simple and used some pampas grass to create a more natural fall feel with no pumpkins....since I used all the pumpkins at the foot of the bed :) I have been contemplating painting my nightstands white with a heavy distressing. What do you think? Along with that will be the addition of board and batten to the other walls in this room. It may become a big white box. Some say that's bad, I just love how the woods and other colors jump off the white though.
I moved our blanket ladder into this corner. This once graced our front room. I decided to change things up in there too so this needed a new home. Pretty much the only color in this room comes from these faux sprigs. It's simple, yet serves it's purpose.
As you can see in here, the fall decor isn't all about the pumpkins or orange colors. It's more about the coziness of the room through layering and textures. I have a rug on a rug; blankets on blankets, pillows on pillows. I am clearly a maximist..not a minimalist. But that's why this house is my home.
I hope you enjoyed the tour and gleamed a little bit of some fall decor inspiration for your home from it. You can see my other fall decorating ideas in the room tours below :)I have so many projects happening right now....can't wait to share them all with you!
