I had to put on some Christmas music and get my Christmas AirMoji scent going today to get in the mood to write this Christmas post! It's been an unusually warm November for us, so my mind is still in September. I do have my whole house decorated for Christmas so one would think that would get me in the mood, but instead, I feel like I'm walking in a dream! Has this year gone by super fast for you like it has me? In fact, the last two years! I'm so happy to be done decorating though so now I can sit back, try to relax and soak it all in and enjoy the little moments. That's super hard to do anymore, but before you know it, it was all be a distant memory. I want to hang on to as many of those memories as possible.
Today I'm sharing the Christmas decor in my living room. I've been waiting all year to put out Christmas decor ever since I bought my new couches. I'm excited to play around with the configuration in here also to see what works best with the Christmas tree. This little corner will more than likely stay the same though. I love this oversized chair here. It's the perfect place to cuddle up on with a good book and coffee. I updated around this chair as well with the vintage printers tray, the vintage clock and ladder, and restyled bookshelves.

Since we have been discussing a new tree, my husband thinks we should go taller than 10 feet. Our ceilings are about 20 feet in here. I feel like any taller would be too much...plus I wouldn't be able to fit the whole thing in a picture! I already stopped putting on a topper because of the height. Also, I do love how it looks without a topper. In fact, I don't place toppers on any of my trees. For my Christmas mantel decor, I kept it relatively simple. I didn't use any books or corbels! That's a first for me :) I found this old window at a vintage fair, and paired it with this old mirror frame. I swagged some faux greens from Hobby Lobby on the side, building it up to give it a little more length on the left. Every year I hang the stockings from this tree limb. It just adds the extra layer of interest.
This is the look as you walk into the space from the hallway. I am loving the bookcase on the left, although that may go before Christmas is done! The plan is to put the antique pie safe I found in that corner. We will see how that goes! I'm using an old tree stump for my side table here and simply added a small tree to freshen it up for the season.
Over to this angle of my living room. I went with the classic neutrals and mainly whites with my throw pillows and blankets. One of these days I'll bring back red in here :) Before I do that, even more green may make an appearance!
I hope you enjoyed the tour and that it was able to inspire you in your journey of decorating for Christmas!
