I have this problem... I love looking for furniture to redo even though I have no room in my house for it :) I've been better at keeping myself off of Facebook Marketplace, but there are times I find myself on there searching for a really good deal. This last instance, I was looking for a new fireplace mantel...one I don't need :) But if I found one on a good deal, I would get it. Then this beautiful corner hutch came up. I wasn't looking for a corner hutch; I've thought about having one at one point in time, but never pursued it. I couldn't help myself, so I got it that night. Here's the before:
It was a robins egg blue chalk paint finish and heavily distressed. This didn't look right in my dining room. Also, I have a lot going on in here, so I needed it to blend in as much as possible....so, I painted it white! I used Behr's Swiss Coffee in satin and a simple paint brush. I took off all the knobs and hinges and added about 2 coats of paint. Here's the after:This is just how I initially have decorated the inside of it. I'm using it for a place to add my collection of Better Homes and Gardens dishes, and my terracotta pots. I'm sure it will change when spring comes around and I add more greens...or just get used to it!

Sometimes just a small-ish change in a room, like this, can bring it back to life and make you love the space again! I love it in here and in this corner, but that doesn't mean it'll be staying :) I may try it in that other corner as well!
