DIY Custom Laptop Cover With Wallpaper

Heya, it's me! Don't usually show my face on here! I should more often. If you follow me on social media, you may see me a little more ...me as in my face :) Besides that, I'm also showing off my laptop cover. I know you can purchase covers online, but they are a little pricey. When I saw how much left over wallpaper I had from one of my projects, I didn't want it to go to waste. Well, at least a small little  rectangle didn't go to waste :) I'm not sure why this idea came into my head, I was searching for a place to put a piece and it looked like the same size as my laptop so I tried it. And...well, I loved it. Best yet, it lasted! I pull this thing in and out of bags constantly, and I think I only have one little knick.

So, here's the before. Not so bad. My other laptop is ugly and dark, dark grey. I had to do it on that one too which I show at the bottom of this post.

The first step was to spread out the peel and stick wallpaper onto the top of the close laptop to get an idea of size. I made it about a half inch to an inch bigger on each side.

I then cut it to size.

I took off the back and carefully positioned it onto the laptop cover. Just like doing it on a wall, I worked about an inch at a time make sure it laid down flat with no bubbles. This totally reminded me of putting contact paper on my books in school. Do kids still do that? I had some really cool see through pink and green contact paper, ha!

Now using an exacto knife, I gently cut through the excess paper around the entire laptop. Whatever hangover was left, I pressed it on.

And that's it!

So pretty, right? This peel and stick wallpaper was so cheap. I got it for just about $3 for the roll. I used all of it on a wall and had this left over. Totally got my money's worth! I think it may have gone up a little bit in price, but not much! Click here for the link.
