Gold and Cozy Christmas Living Room Decor | Tour 2022

I knew this would happen. I posted my Fall decor just about a month ago, and now here's my house all decorated for Christmas. These seasons changing happens so fast. It still feels surreal, but I know to get me into the Christmas spirit, I need to decorate way early. You know, so it sinks in before the big day arrives :) I started this room on November 1st! I had to get some pieces here and there to make it just right...and I think it's there now and at a perfect point to share it with you.
I went for a complete cozy vibe in here...but other than that definitely not the direction I thought I was going to head! I don't tend to have any inkling of what my Christmas decor will be until I start to decorate. Sometimes, that makes for a long process...like this year. I just threw up my tree and started grabbing stuff from around the house. I ended up with a gold and cozy theme with used to be fresh-now dried eucalyptus greens throughout.

This little cozy section of my living room is one of my favorite places. I cozied it up a bit with this new faux sheep skin rug on the arm. I have been using these rugs throughout my house for years now, but just started adding them to other places other than the floor :) You'll notice I have quite a few in here, and in my dining room that I'll be sharing soon!

For my Christmas tree this year, I started off with some elements from my tree in my front living room last year. I loved it so much in there, I wanted to bring it in here...but then I didn't want to do everything so it went for a turn :) Which was okay, because I ended up here! I love it so much...but never thought I would add gold!

I used faux eucalyptus stems both smaller ones and the silver dollar sized leaves. I went with the book pages from the tree last year, and also added these cute little gold bells. This corkscrew gold garland is from Hobby Lobby. I then finished it off with different sizes of white ornaments...a few of which are the wool balls I loved so much in last year's tree. I added this extra strand of lights to make it twinkle so beautifully! In fact, I like to use at least two different lights in my tree....the c9 bulbs and the normal sized lights. It makes for a beautiful effect.

Here's the tree without the lights on so you can see the elements a little better.

Seeing that my tree was now filled with gold elements, I had to carry it through the mantel. The way the mantel was before I decorated the tree, just didn't work. So, I went through quite a few iterations (see them all on this IG reel) I finally landed on this.

I used more of the gold bells, and carried through the flocking from the tree in the garland. I then added some fresh eucalyptus to the garland and then more again to the empty window frame with some bells. That eucalyptus is now of course, dried :) But I love how I was able to use some real elements in here. I would have added real eucalyptus to my tree, but it's apparently really poisonous to cats... and well, they get in there often :/

I added these brass candlesticks to the garland. I found some vintage Indian ones at a local shop, and then wanted to add more and found the other three online. They matched perfectly!

I made these stockings on a whim a few days ago. I'll be sharing the tutorial with you soon! It's so easy!
Now for this side of the room...which seems so plain now. I kept my go-to use of neutrals, browns and pops of greens. I added all the layers to my couch with lots of sweater pillows and throw blankets.

I found these sweater pillows for 70% off at Target last year. Shipments weren't on schedule and Target was unloading boxes upon boxes when I walked in to the store in January. They immediately discounted every Christmas item, and these were a steal! My cart was ridiculous looking and I may have looked a little crazy with my overflowing pillows in it :)

This little cabinet houses all my blankets. I hung some garland I made last year (tutorial coming up on how to make these little craft snowflakes). I added some small trees in terracotta pots to add to the Christmas flare.

Our sweet little new addition to our family, Willow, has taken over Aero's blanket bed. She is the sweetest little thing! Had to add her in here since she bounces around this room finding different "beds" to lay on. You'll probably see her sneaking into other photos!
I'm excited to get to sharing more of my Christmas home decor with you soon...along with lots of Christmas crafts! Just need some more time in my day! ha! Until then, you can find me on Instagram showing all the behind the scenes things!
