I just had to share this fun trunk or treat idea with you! We had a trunk or treat this past weekend at our church. My friend and I decided to do a trunk together. We had so many ideas going through our head, and the night before we finally decided on a skeleton tea party in a woodland forest after much brainstorming. We figured this was the cheapest one since we had everything for it besides the tablecloths! Definitely not the quickest one to put together, but we got it done in about 1 hour.
Most of this is going to be pictures for you to see for details, but I figured I would give a supply list as well :)
- Wood boards to fit back of trunk.
- Wood and green tablecloths from Hobby Lobby
- Lots of green stems...lots of them, the viney ones are great for the back and the gate part.
- Hydrangeas and other flowers
- Tree stumps for table and seating
- 3' skeletons; link

- Battery Candles: Link
- Bulk fairy lights: Link
- Moss
- Long wood pieces
We created a "tea for two" sign on a cut piece of wood. I used the same technique here from what I do with my Christmas ornaments (tutorial here).
I'm slowly moving out of the trunk to show you the set up. The wood tablecloth was attached to the top all the way into the back. We then took the green tablecloth from the bottom to the sides. I probably had enough greens to actually cover all of this, but ... well, at one point we just had to stop adding stuff haha.
I couldn't help but show this lady's look haha. She's totally saying "Oh my" don't you think?
And here's the full view to show it's actually a trunk! we had two cute chairs on the side, and this little tea table to hold the candy in a cute basket.
This was the first ever trunk I have done! It was so much fun, and I think from here on out we will doing a series of activities for these two skeletons every year :)
