Decorating for Christmas is one of my favorite things to do, and this year, I wanted my dining room to feel like the perfect mix of cozy and charming with a touch of rustic elegance. I focused on layering natural elements, soft textures, and simple details to create a space that feels warm and welcoming for the holidays.
I absolutely love adding small trees throughout the house, and this little one in a wicker basket might be my favorite. I got this basket from a local vintage store and new a tree would be perfect in it! I kept it simple with a few pinecones and finished it off with a soft velvet ribbon for a touch of charm. It’s such an easy addition, but it adds so much character to the room.

The dining table is the centerpiece of the room, so I kept it simple. I layered a different spring green stems from Hobby Lobby to create this look. At the ends, I just added one simple pine stem to add to the winter feel. To add a bit of elegance, I placed taper candles in brass candlesticks—they add just the right amount of glow to make the whole room feel magical, especially at night.
I sprinkled dried oranges into the greens along with dried grapefruit. The different pops of color paired perfectly with the greens and brass from the candlesticks! You can see how I dry my oranges in this tutorial (click here).
You may have noticed in my last few posts that bows are a big thing this year for Christmas decor, and I'm totally here for it. I added a perfect little velvet bow to this candelabra to tie in the bows that are in the wreaths that flank the hutch.
I added just a couple of Christmas touches to the corner cabinet with the strung oranges and tree on top. I found this amazing vintage deer print from Antique Farmhouse and new it belonged here.
I was excited to decorate this new hutch behind the table for the season. I added a mix of greenery, vintage-inspired mini trees, and a few wood and gold accents to keep everything cohesive. I wanted it to feel festive but not overwhelming, and I love how it turned out.
This mirror made it's way in here. I didn't think adding a mirror into a dining room hutch would look right, but it was just what this corner needed!
I’ve always loved a neutral palette, and I think it works so well for Christmas decor. The whitewashed table and chairs set the perfect base, while the throws draped over the chairs add that cozy, inviting feel. It’s simple and cozy, but that’s what I love about it.
This corner was so close to getting a full sized Christmas tree in it, but then I remembered how much I love this DIY pie safe now that I decorate it for the seasons. Norfolk pine is a hot Christmas green this year. I found this Norfolk pine plant at Wal-Mart! I'm excited to hopefully not kill it and see how big it gets! This pie safe also houses my vintage Santa mugs. I'm a little over the "Santa" part of Christmas decor, but I knew I had to add them in for my kids :)
I embroidered the wreath onto the tea towel last year, and it has stayed through all the seasons since. Now it's a Christmas wreath yet again. To make this space more Christmas-y, I added some green stems and dried oranges into this straw market bag.
The rustic beams and the soft botanical wallpaper tie the whole room together. They bring so much character to the space, and with the candles glowing and greenery scattered throughout, it feels like the perfect cozy retreat for the holidays.
This room is where so many of our holiday memories will be made, whether it’s a big Christmas dinner or just enjoying a moment with a cup of cocoa with my kids. I love how everything came together—it’s simple, cozy, and full of charm.
