Christmas is fast approaching and I still have some spaces to share! When it comes to Christmas decorating, there’s something magical about starting at the very first space everyone sees—the entryway. I love walking through the door and being greeted by the warm, cheerful touches that set the tone for the rest of the home. This year, I decided to give my entryway a little extra love, and I’m excited to share the process with you. With a few simple steps, you can create an entryway that’s not just functional but also brimming with holiday cheer.
Dress Up The Staircases
This garland is actually from the normal greens section in Hobby Lobby. I love the way it looks for Christmas without being actual Christmas garland. I wrapped the garland around the railing and tied it off with big, beautiful bows. I stuck to a green and gold color scheme to keep everything cohesive, but you could easily switch it up to match your own holiday style. Every time I walk downstairs, I can’t help but smile at how cheerful it looks.
Add a Small Christmas Tree
One of my favorite additions this year was a smaller Christmas tree tucked into a wicker basket by the staircase. It’s such a simple yet impactful touch. The tree adds height and a fresh pop of green, while the wicker basket brings in that cozy, natural texture. I dressed it up with a ribbon, but you could easily add ornaments for a more decorated look.
Keep It Functional
As much as I love decorating, I also need my entryway to work for everyday life. That’s why I added a couple of woven baskets under the console table. They’re great for storing shoes and scarves, but they also add a nice texture to the space. Bonus: they’re super easy to move out of the way when guests come over.
Add a Touch of Gold
I’ve always loved the timeless elegance of gold, so I decided to incorporate it into the entryway decor. I hung a collection of vintage gold frames on the wall, layering them to create a gallery-style display. It's such an easy way to add a little shimmer and personality to the space.
Create a Focal Point
For me, the focal point was my console table. It’s the first thing you see when you step inside, so I wanted it to feel special. I layered it with a few of my favorite bottle brush trees, some candles, and this cute vintage light. The candles add the perfect cozy glow when lit, especially during those dark winter evenings. If you have a bench or a small table in your entryway, this is the perfect place to start.
